Wow! Its been over 3 months since my last blog, I think that's the longest I have gone without blogging!
Well, a lot has happened in the last 3 months... Natalie is growing up so fast!! She can say quite a few words now, although not all of them are easy to understand. She can say mama, dada, milk and night-night very clear. She pretty much understands everything we tell her. She is very good at telling us no, she doesn't actually say it, but just shakes her head. Her molars have started coming in, and those have been pretty painful for her. We took her to the eye doctor because a couple people had mentioned to us that it looked like she might have a lazy eye. Her vision tests all came back normal, so that was great to find out. Recently she has started hitting us when she doesn't get what she wants. The first couple times she did it we weren't sure if she actually knew what she was doing so we ignored it, but as the days passed and she kept hitting us when she was upset we knew that she knew what she was doing. Hopefully this is a phase and she soon learns that hitting is not ok. Natalie has started going to a gym class, and she loves it!! They have physical activities for the kids, and also sing songs and play games. And there is always a lesson they are trying to teach each week.
This past weekend we went to Phoenix for Charlie's race. It was a 12 hour race, 6pm until 6am!! He did great, he came in 47th out of 183 people. He ran 30.8 miles, his race time was 6:47:07. I couldn't stay at his race since I was driving home the next day I needed to sleep, but his family was out there with him so he had a lot of support. Even though our trip to Phoenix was short it was nice to see our families. My grandparents spent the weekend with us too so they could spend time with Natalie, they had not seen her since March. Also Natalie got to see her Uncle James again, this was only her 2nd time seeing him and she warmed up to him pretty quick.
I am really going to try and start blogging more often! I promise!

Here are a few pictures from this weekend:

I don't think she liked the ride,
she tried getting her money back, lol!

Hello again!! We had a scary accident 2 days ago, Natalie fell down a flight of stairs!! It was one of the scariest moments we have had with her. This is how it happened... Natalie, Charlie and I were all upstairs, I had to go downstairs to start baking brownies for the BBQ we were having the next day, and when I went down I guess I forgot to lock the gate... that's just an accident waiting to happen... Natalie was playing and Charlie was on the computer, she made her way past the gate and fell. I heard a thumping/banging and thought it was just Natalie banging things on the wall upstairs, but as I listened a little more I knew it was her falling down the stairs. By that time, my brother (who was watching TV) saw her rolling and jumped up to get her, and by that time Charlie had ran down to her and I was right there. I just kept screaming "Oh my god, Oh my god" over and over. Tyler was the 1st to get to her so he had picked her up and gave her to Charlie, but I pretty much yanked her out of his arms and was telling him, give her to me!! Right away I told Charlie we were going to the emergency room, he didn't think we needed to because the only injury we could see was a bloody lip. But I didn't know if she could have any internal injuries or a concussion, so I insisted we go. This all happened so fast, from the time she fell to the time we were out the door it was probably less than a minute. Natalie was screaming and inconsolable for about 10 minutes, she did stop crying, but I could tell she was still shaken up and hurting. We got to the ER and after checking her in they took all of the information, temperature (which was done through her bum, and she WAS NOT happy about that), her heart rate and weight. She appeared ok, but we still had to wait to be seen by the doctor. 2 hours later.... The doctor said she was ok, and we could go home. They said a scan of her head would be too much radiation and not worth the risk since she had no signs anything was wrong. That night Natalie was her happy self again, she went to bed a little early since she missed her afternoon nap. That night and last night she has cried out in the night, she is having nightmares :(
Onto a happier topic... Natalie has learned to climb onto the couch! She loves to sit on the couch with us, although she is usually trying to stand on the couch (which she knows she isn't suppose to do). She has also improved the way she says "all done", before it sounded like "dah", but now she has started to separate it into 2 words, saying "ah dan".
Charlie's mom and brother came out for 4th of July, unfortunately Charlie had to work a lot of the time, but we were able to go to the base next to our house to watch the fireworks together. It was pretty late at night, 9:00, which is way past Natalie's 7:00 bed time. But she did pretty good, and fell asleep in my arms on the way home. The next day Natalie and I went with Mima and Jesse to a BBQ at Mima's, fiances, step-mom's, brother's house... Have I confused you??LOL! But we had fun, and Natalie had enjoyed running around the backyard and playing.
Charlie and I have registered for our 1st race together. It is only a 5K, so it will be pretty easy for Charlie, but I have to work up to running that far so I will be ready. I'm getting pretty excited, but it isn't until November.
Yesterday we had a BBQ/Baby shower for a girl Charlie works with, she is due in just a few weeks. Natalie loved having so many people here, she is not shy at all anymore. I think she thought they were all here to play with her!! Since typically when people come here (our families), thats why they are here. She had a great time (and so did we).

On our way to watch the fireworks...
She had everything she needed in her wagon!
