Friday night I went with Tyler and 2 of his friends to the Suns game, and even though I really didn't know what was going on, I liked being there.
Yesterday I went with my friend Angela to watch her husband race. It was fun, although the people in charge didn't seem very fair. After the races we went to dinner and then shopping. My face is red now because I am never out in the sun for that long :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Today I am 14 weeks, officially in my second trimester! My belly is starting to pop out so I thought it would be a good time to start taking pictures...

Today I had my doctor's appointment, and it went great. The baby's heartbeat was 158 beats per minute. The baby was really active, every time the nurse found the heartbeat the baby would immediately move and she would have to go find it again. I was able to ask my doctor all of my questions (I had a list)... The name of the bleed I have is a subchorionic bleed. They don't know what causes it, but from what I read in my pregnancy book it occurs in about 1% of pregnancies. The fact that mine keeps getting smaller, is a relief. She could not tell me if my placenta previa was full or partial because it is too early in the pregnancy. They told me last week not to lift anything heavy, and I asked how much weight they considered heavy, and she told me nothing heavier than a grocery sack. As long as I don't start spotting I am allowed to travel, which I was very happy to hear. The results from last weeks testing are not back, but she was able to tell me the back of the baby's head measurement was ok. Now I just have to wait for the blood test results. She did say everything else on the ultrasound looked ok. I have an appointment in 3 weeks for a regular check up, and then also I will be getting another ultrasound to check on the placenta previa. And most likely I will find out if we are having a little boy or a little girl. I can't wait!! One thing I was not too thrilled to hear today was that there is a new amount of weight pregnant moms should gain during the pregnancy... It used to be 25-35 pounds. And I even went over that limit with Landon and gained 40 pounds. Well now the new limit is 20-25 pounds!!! I told her how much I had gained with Landon and she said it was too much, and she jokingly told me she would yell at me if I gained that much. Well, I told her she was going to have to yell at me then. There is no way I am going to gain under 25 pounds. As of right now I have gained 3 pounds.

I guess when it comes to pregnancies me and Charlie just don't have good luck... I got a call from the doctor's office today... The doctor looked at my ultrasound from yesterday, and apparently I have placenta previa. They said the placenta is is blocking my cervix. They will give my another ultrasound at 18 weeks to see if its any better. They gave me a couple restrictions, but pretty much there is nothing that can be done right now. Thats all the information I got from the doctor's office, I have another appointment on Tuesday for a regular check up so I will be asking a lot of questions then. I did get out a couple pregnancy books I have to get a little more information. There are a few things that can cause this, one thing is when pregnancies are close together. To me this seems like the most likely reason. This occurs in about 1/200 births. There is a chance that as the pregnancy progresses and I grow, the placenta will move and everything will be ok. If the placenta does not move, there is a chance the baby would have to be delivered early. Which is something I don't even want to think about right now, premature babies can have so many different problems. But, if the baby goes to full term and the placenta is still blocking the cervix it would make a regular delivery impossible and I would have a c-section. So right now we are just hoping this problem will fix itself. All we want is a healthy baby.

I went to the doctor today, and everything seems to be going great. The baby has grown so much!! He/she actually looks like a little baby!! The baby's heart beat was 158 beats per minute, exactly where it should be. The baby was super active, and kicking around like crazy. There is still blood there, but its less. They did measure the back of the baby's head, and took my blood. The results for that should be ready at the end of next week. This will tell us if there is anything wrong with the baby. Its amazing how much the baby has grown in such a short time. I loved seeing the baby today, and seeing it moving around. It just makes everything so much more real. I have fallen in love with my little baby.

Baby's profile...
The first one is a close up of his/her face and chest
The second is a full body profile

On the left image you can see the baby's butt and legs
On the right image you can see the baby's hand.
Its hard to tell on this picture, but up close you can see all the bones on the hand.

Yesterday morning we planted Landon's memorial tree at Jackrabbit park. We picked a Sissoo tree (it is spelled many different ways). I loved being a part of the planting of his tree, and I'm happy that so many family members were able to make it out there to help. This is another memory we now have of Landon, some place that we can visit and remember him. There will be a plaque next to the tree, that will take about 3 weeks to arrive. We were able to pick what was written on the plaque. There was so much I wanted to write, but not enough room. Charlie and I decided on this:
LANDON JACOB
A LIFE SO BRIEF, A CHILD SO SMALL
YOU HAD THE POWER TO TOUCH US ALL.
JUNE 11, 2008 - AUGUST 7, 2008
I am so happy that we were given this gift, its something that I would not have thought of on my own. Landon was so special to so many people, and this is another special memory we will always have.
